Visiting Macau is a very popular weekend or short getaway option for Discovery Bay residents! Departing from Discovery Bay, depending on your starting point (South Plaza/North Plaza) and personal preferences, there are two most convenient public transport options: "Land Route via Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (Golden Bus)" and "Water Route via Ferry (Central to Outer Harbour Macau Terminal)".
XiaoR has compiled detailed transport plans, fares, and schedules to help you travel smoothly!
Living in Discovery Bay, you have a huge geographic advantage reaching the Hong Kong Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge! You can take an in-district bus directly to the bridge terminal, then transfer to the 24-hour operating "Golden Bus" to reach Macau.
Travel Method: Take the DB02R Airport Bus directly from Discovery Bay.
Journey Time: Approximately 25 - 30 minutes.
Fare: Non-residents HK$52.7 / Registered residents (Octopus) HK$44.6.
Transfer Note: The DB02R bus, after passing the airport, will pass through the Hong Kong Port of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (get off at the bridge terminal unless at specific designated stops). No need for multiple transfers—very convenient!
After clearing the departure formalities at the bridge terminal, you can take the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Shuttle Bus (commonly called "Golden Bus") directly to Macau.
Frequency: 24-hour operation. Daytime (09:00-23:59) approximately every 5 - 10 minutes; late night every 30 minutes—virtually no waiting.
Journey Time: Approximately 30 - 40 minutes.
Single Fare:
Daytime (06:00-23:59): Adults HK$65 / Concession (children, seniors, people with disabilities) HK$33.
Night (00:00-05:59): Adults HK$70 / Concession HK$35.
(Note: Children under 3 or under 0.95m in height travel free.)
Ticketing Methods: Purchase at self-service machines in the terminal lobby (accepts Octopus, credit cards, Alipay, WeChat Pay, Apple Pay, etc.) or via the Golden Bus WeChat Official Account in advance.
Take free casino/hotel shuttle buses outside the Macau border control building, or ride Macau city buses (e.g., 101X, 102X, etc., fare MOP 6) to your destination.
If you prefer not to ride buses or want to sail directly to central Macau (e.g., Naga Road/Ruins of St. Paul's or near Rua do Cunha in Taipa), you can transfer through Central.
Travel Method: Take the ferry directly from Discovery Bay Pier (South Plaza) to Central.
Journey Time: 25 - 30 minutes.
Single Fare: Registered residents HK$46.0 / Non-residents HK$63.5 (late night surcharge approximately HK$21.0).
Late Night Alternative: For late-night travel, take the DB08R Bus to/from Central.
Choose TurboJET to Outer Harbour/Taipa or Cotai Water Jet to Taipa.
Journey Time: Approximately 55 - 60 minutes.
Single Fare Reference (Latest rates as of April 25, 2026, standard cabin example):
